Birdsong

Birdsong, can you hear it at first light?
Come along, for they'll soon be taking flight
Songbirds, the sweetest sounds delight
My word, that singing's out of sight

A Warbler whistles a clear tune excitedly
A Hummingbird searches for nectar in a frenzy
He's funny, but he is free

So as you lift off, let go of my hand
I will always be here, a place to land
Lay your flight path, take off and explore
Soaring to great heights, knowing you are cared for

A storm is coming, for it's silent in the meadow
No Flickers drumming, Wrens weeping in a willow
Feathered friends, we should be at your beck and call
And make amends for all this urban sprawl

A Swan glides through the water so majestically
A Goldeneye is landing not so gracefully
She's funny, but she is free

So as you lift off, let go of my hand
I will always be here, a place to land
Lay your flight path, take off and explore
Soaring to great heights, knowing you are cared for

A careful Creeper climbs, protected in a tree
Watch the Kingfisher diving acrobatically

So as you lift off, let go of my hand
I will always be here, a place to land
Lay your flight path, take off and explore
Soaring to great heights, knowing you are cared for
