Grave Borrower

She whispered gently a tombstone chant in a graveyard cadence.
Her godless hips, her pale blue lips, and her opened wrists.
Heretical pontification?
Hysterical hallucination?
Her frail shadow drags a cold knife through my sleep.

Is forever forever?

The soil sighed a soothing song,
Cold, quiet, and final.
Under my nails and pushed into my ears.
Coagulation melodies.
The cold bites at my extremities.
Her frail shadow in a clearing in the trees

In a place where the roads have no names,
Painted in flame.
Black robe hides a skeletal frame,
Bathed in flame.
A place where the roads have no names,
Painted in flame.
Black robe hides a skeletal frame,
Bathed in flame.

Now is forever forever?
