What Did I Get For Trusting Him?

I remember those days
Those 'merry' days
When I was a boy and fell for his lies
Once I was younger and ignorant
Now I have seen the light

What did I get for trusting him?
Look at my face, this outlandish paint
Check out my hat and hideous clothes
Am I a clown or a joke?

Now I am stuck in this puny box
All I can do is wait and hide
Turn the crank up and I'll spring a surprise
I'm laughing but I'm seething inside

Once I was bitten, now I'm twice as shy
Away from his fond illusions
Cos I have grand dreams
To be someone else
This silly entertaining is just an insult

If I had a choice, I'd be a star
Dressed up to the nines
The spotlight is mine
Dancing and singing the night away
The lights applause
They're all for me

So Thomas young man
Don't be naive
The Toymaker doesn't have plans for you
Don't say I didn't warn you about this man
You're in for a huge surprise!
