Gazebo Grapevine

Did you forget when our ride broke down on the side of the road?
The swarming locusts and the king of mercy are standing guard
And the gates open to the grapevine

The white gazebo on the edge of the city
Driving at 1 AM
The mossy bunkers and the home of old friends
We're up till 5 AM
Now it's time to go back

I'll never go to the city again
I'll never learn how to make new friends
I'd rather be at someplace safe
Chipping away at my granite face

Whatever happened to the grey scarab?
He hibernates on the hill
My favorite story to tell on radio and when I'm on TV
Oh I'm not quite there yet
