Sample Talk

Yo
Somebody asked me an interesting question yesterday
They asked me do I sample at all
Don't get it wrong I love original production, you know I create that
But I also love, you know, sampling

I mean it's nothing like walking into your favorite record store
Walking down your favorite aisle
Going through records
And then boom!
Covers just hit you
And you know you let the imagination run you know
The possibilities that what could sound this record
You know just thinking about things that you know, that's on this record
What you could possibly mess around with
You know it's a beautiful thing for me

That question also reminded me of uh
The beauty of sampling and uh
Just letting the record play
And finding your favorite parts of the record
And snatchin it up and recreating; something totally new
Yeah, thanks for that question

(Yeah)
I think I just, just follow the bass
And usually an idea will come to me
Might be in the middle of the session
Might be in the car or some shit
With my kid or some shit
Smoking on some shit
(follow the bass)
(follow the bass)
(follow the bass)
Especially with some ill drums
Little guitar on that motherfucker
(follow the bass)
Let it lead the way
Get into it
It's therapeutic
Ay this is a gift
(follow the bass)
I trust that shit
I don't trust a lot of shit
I trust that shit tho
(follow the bass)
(follow the bass)
(follow the bass)
(follow the bass)
