A Dream

On a bright clear day
With burning blue sky
He dropped himself
From ten feet high

She tried to comfort him
And so often told
All things pass
All grow old

He didn't listen
And though she knew
She'd keep on whispering
A few words through

But in his head was
A haunted sound
That drew him in
Drew him to the ground

But he'll never sleep here again
He'll never feel fear again
He'll never say sorry again
He'll never need
To cry again

Many years passed
And the stone fell down
Cracked in two and
Swallowed by the ground

She stopped passing by
Just laid in their bed
Having said goodbye
To a dream now dead

And they'll never dance here again
They'll never hold hands again
They'll never shout out again
And they'll never, ever
Ever
Cry
Again
