You Can Tell

I thought it was a good time
To tell you what was on my mind
Who knew it would turn out the way it did
I thought about it all the time
And I decided there was no rhyme or reason
For anything that happened

Yes there's just one way you can tell
When everything is gone to hell
And that's when they look at you that way

Back before i knew better
I always did things to the letter
There was no chance of me getting caught this way
And then you came along
With your games and all the things you never said
And you kept me dancing to your tune

It wasn't like the nights before
And nothing heavy hit the floor
And there was nothing I could do or say to you
It was meant to be
Is something I always hated to say
But this one's starting to feel a bit that way
