Coyote Altar

Hollowed trees mark the pathways
Hanging vines hide the view
Of the sacred dancing grounds
They only want to see you

Ancient runes are drawn in sand
Sacred herbs are sparked to flame
Low humming fills the air
Eyes are watching from the plains

When you see your reflection
And it doesnt look right
There is some commotion
In heaven tonight

Strange symbols on the pillars
Latrans barking from afar
Give yourself to the old ones
At the coyote altar

You dont need to understand it
If it doesnt feel so wrong
Hear your sound and command it
Sing out your ancient song

Run far past the tall trees
Dig through the thorned brush
Bite down on your prey's neck
Feel the hunt its timeless rush

No need for reflections
Out in the wild
No need for reflections

Rune enchantments on your fangs
Canis major in the sky
Guided out by the old gods
From the coyote altar

Altar, altar, altar

Arrow pierces through your side
Blood it pools as you die
But fear not as you are mourned
An old god youll be reborn

Past the tall trees you see farther
As your teeth become the brush
The river flows as your blood now
A coyote altar has been born
