I realized I wasn't living 'cause I lived for them
I always thought that I was wrong unless I'm fitting in
They said I need to tone it down and I was giving in
'Cause I wanted it so much I was ignoring Him
I got caught up saying all these things I never meant
'Cause they would hate on what I'd say unless I follow trends
Had to stop living for it and start to defend
'Cause I won't ever win if I only play offense

They don't wanna believe unless they see it though
So I get up on this stage and I put on a show
But it will mean not a thing if I ever blow
Unless when it all is over everybody knows

That I forget everything that glorifies me
That's when I'm okay with You being all I need

I had to look at my own heart and hit the reset
Understand that there's some things that they will never get
So when they see the hurt and ask why I'm still doing it
Say there's a purpose to the pain so I can't ever quit
Still gotta say it to myself so that I'm convinced
If I don't believe it in my heart, there's so much I miss
And there's days that I hate it I have to admit
That the more I learn the more ignorance ain't bliss

So I get up on this stage and I put on a show

That when I gave it to you that's when it stopped the bleeding
That I finally believed my pain had a reason
That's when I found meaning in all of my broken pieces
That when I gave it all to you that's where I found my freedom

You see 11 months ago I didn't even want to live anymore
I was broken and I was looking for everything in the world
To try to fix the pain that I felt
I didn't know who I was so I let the world tell me
I was riddled with anxiety, depression, and about three other diagnoses
Everything that the world had to offer just left me more and more empty
It wasn't until I turned to Jesus that I can stand here and say
I am free from every single one of those
