Kitchen Sink
Our world
It's dissolving
Into a disease
And time
It reverses
Just like you said it did
The faucet in my kitchen leaks incessantly
Making noises with every droplet
Droning on, a forever even beat
And since the clock in that room has slowed down
And always shows a different number from the clocks in the other room
I sit and wonder if I could use the dripping faucet to keep track of time
I'm sick of running late
I feel like folding paper plates
Just listening to the sounds of my kitchen sink
But the hand is blinking now
And somehow time is running out
I just wanna roll back over into my dreams
So where do we go from here
It's never felt so unclear
Give me a map and I can't read it
I feel so far from space
Reading a license plate
Driving on highways in New Jersey
When I turn thirty I'll have lived from ten to twenty twice
But I know it must not really feel that way
I wonder why
And I've been thinking, rather than keeping time
Our time has been keeping us
So as the faucet drips I try to remember being ten
But I can't really
I can't imagine this nothingness forever so
I guess that I'm okay we're all just gonna end
I can't imagine this nothingness forever so
I guess that I'm okay we're all just gonna end
I can't imagine this nothingness forever so
I guess that I'm okay we're all just gonna end
I can't imagine this nothingness forever so
I guess that I'm okay we're all just gonna end
It's dissolving
Into a disease
And time
It reverses
Just like you said it did
The faucet in my kitchen leaks incessantly
Making noises with every droplet
