Desert Mansion

Lost in the desert
Grounds burn like hell
Twilight falls quietly
Among the cracked stones
Caught in my eyes
A mansion upon the hill
Waving desperately, under the dazzling Spanish tiles

Breathlessly I climbed up
(A butler there was) He looked at me
(Smiled) Like an old friend
Then I was surrounded by the servants
The hallway was too bright
I couldn't see stairs behind my back

Welcome home my lady
They said
Long time you were gone
Enough to turn his heart to dust
Every night the lord looks from the tower
To the path where you had left

Led me to the table, they asked me
What wine for tonight
Couldn't say a word
But body's longing for food
Scallops dancing on peaches
Shadows above the chandelier
Old piano playing a song with no one's sitting behind

Portraits everywhere
Their pretty faces
Somehow look familiar
But how come they were all crying
(Or maybe laughing) The maids came to the hall
With roses waving in their hands

Welcome home my lady
They said
Long time you were gone
Enough to turn his heart to dust
Every night he puts one rose by the window
Reminds him how you used to smell like

It must be a mistake
I'm not your lady and I don't know any lord

The floor shakes apart
The wine tastes like blood
A tuxedo shadow, figure, came to me
The lord is here
(So they said) But isn't that
A bunch of walking bones
A skull under the velvet feather hat
Starred at me from his hollow eyes
He shook his head

No, you are not my Fiona
He said "Oh, since she abandoned me here
In the endless dark
The strongest poison in the world
Love, has sucked me out
So, I guess I can't have my bride back
But you-you'll never have your way out
Cause no one
No one
No one
No one can beat
No one can beat, desert of love
As long as you have (HELP!-)hope

Rushed to the gate
I fell into the stars
Everything was gone
It's only the empty desert
In the arms of moon
I suddenly felt sad
A tear drop from my face
Onto a rose in my hand
