Across The Horizon

An albatross on my neck covers my sights
And binds my thoughts into questions
At a loss when time runs the opposite direction
Trying to shut it down but I'm shunned out by the sun
Did everyone play a role in what unfolded for us
Or was it all a natural part of the domino effect

Nothing left to defend, beaten to a pulp
My vision is weakened my perceptions altered
Weary wandering, across the horizon
I begin to wonder of the losses I took then
Fought the eyes watching me as I ran to them
I look at faces passing me by, and wonder again

Finally, I can say I kind of comprehend what you meant
When we departed, that our souls are equal
And two people like us though we coexist peacefully
The differences are outside our control

Shot into oblivion for chasing the sun
Lost looking for something or someone
Across the horizon
The cost of friendship and innocent vengeance
I got it now, changes are not permanent, only change is
