Lawn Chairs

Have you counted all the holes in your wall
Those years of method acting and you're still feeling small
I heard you say you climb the highest of peaks
So I'll try to put some distance between your shoes and my feet

And I'm not sure what I'm doing this for
But I fold like the lawn chairs in your yard
A couple miles and I'm still under your tires
Will I realize that I wasted my time lying

I've got blisters across the length of my hand
From carrying the bags that hold the weight of your plans
I'll go hours, I'll go days without news
Of cages that you cut open just to let them all run loose

And I'm not sure what I've been looking for
But I'm wrapped in several pairs of arms
Taking a while just to find some sense of style
Will I realize that I wasted my time trying
