Untethered

Despite my attempts to stay upright
I continue to fall within her sight
I begin to split open and tumble around
I'm muted but roped in without giving a sound

The rain comes down, it's causing a drown
Within my mind and around the town
Ideas they come and they go with time
But I still haven't decided the reason or rhyme

I've become untethered
From her iron fist
That cold hard grip that contained me

I don't think that I have measured
The paces I took
The stone cold looks that she gave me

Where can I go from here?
I've run out of my luck
I've run out of my trust

Where can I go from here?
I've run out of my luck
I've run out of my trust

From a walk to a run, I'm feeling a burn
Across my whole body while my consciousness churns
I'm just about done writing in my book
In time they won't give me a second look

The rain came down, it was wetting the mound
Of dirt in my mind and the thoughts out of sight
Ideas they come and they go with time
And I still haven't decided the reason or rhyme

I became untethered
I don't know what to do
But that's nothing new for me

Where can I go for shelter?
I've run out of my luck
I've run out of my trust in tomorrow
