Ancient Hysteria

Long ago in a distant land
I, Aku, shapeshifting master of darkness
Unleashed an unspeakable evil!

I can see the pain in your eyes
Ancient hysteria crosses my mind
Define my existence as madness on a fence
Exploring salvation through a soft recompense
Compensate for a lack of idea with movement
Specifically unclear, an altercation without event
I am sent to the place they call purging hell
And while I swim through the water, eels whisper and tell me
Of a land thought to be a fantastic little story
Figures from the past claiming to know my future history
A misdemeanor or is it a federal offense?
Capital punishment for lies and a sense
Of salvation but nothing was ever true in the end
No love lost, nothing mattered, the truth can always bend

I'd like to spend some time and send my thoughts in line
Walking lasciviously, stalking, talking about crime
The theft of a neutral world; hostile companion
Friendly musings betray innocence as I stand in
Waters and ponds full of blood, pus, and boils

Living as though everything was a reason
Exploring the spirit of the universe's treason

And so it was a force, forcing me to see
That I had been living as blind as I could be
But now I am aware, awakened all too well
All the agony endured has forsaken the spell

Has lifted the curse that has plagued all my light
The blindness fades as I regain my sight
Tonight, well, now is never too soon
I turn my eye to the sky and send love to the moon
