Musings (feat. Ell)

Deep within the recesses of my mind
I know so far down, that our world, it hasn't got much time
Will my future memories be of something far from whence I then reside
Will fictitious thoughts reign as I simply let reality subside

Antithetical is greed to the prosperity of our selves
For the more we want the less we need, serenity our souls will need to sell
Shifting motives carry weight as heavy as regressive mental states affect oneself
Alas the ones with the ability have egregious means of drying up the well

Take a deep breath and exhale out the stress
Don't you know all things must come to an end
I can see the bridge across the chasm ahead
Don't tell me to dive deep into it's depths

I know that life can hit us hard sometimes
It's all about the memories we keep alive
how we bounce back, persevere and thrive
Despite it all we move on and survive

Severing the threads of hope is simply a toll
In order to understand the point of it all

Yet I can barely stand it's reflection
Though the eyes staring back feign abjection
Affront the backdrop, it bleeds disconnection
When compared to unobtainable perfection

Blind I see nothing, farther than what's perceived
Time won't stop rushing, accept it and you'll be free
In my life forthcoming, I retain arbitrary beliefs
For our sight's shortcoming, is a beautiful present motif

Brought here just to see me leave
