Color Issue

Some well-meaning folks, in an effort to reduce racial tension, have said to me
Ya know, Stil, I don't see color
My response?
Stop lying
We all see color and it's beautiful

God used multiple hues when painting His creation
He likes variety
How about we stop pretending we don't see the obvious
And the beauty within it
How about we celebrate that God decided against
Both boredom and colorless repetition
How about we shake hands with someone of another color
Just to enjoy the contrast
Hug someone with darker skin
Hi five someone with lighter skin
Put your thick, dark lips against the cheek of your white girlfriend
And enjoy it
Embrace your Vietnamese boyfriend and know God crafted his arms
Enjoy a Bar-B-Que with your neighbor
And, on purpose, relish that God blessed them
With a unique Mocha-like shade

Then silently tell The Triune-One
I do see Your colors. Thank You for sharing Your creativity with us
It is BEAUTIFUL!
