Time is a Bullet

I wake up every morning and I try to wipe the wrinkles off my face
I take eleven pills and I ease myself into the day
I know my life is changing, I see it all to clear
The problem is I don't remember how we got here

I can't remember what I say at least one hundred times a day
I'm soon to be a lonely man, so it won't matter anyway

I gas up the saw and take the dog for a walk by the creek
I carry wood up the hill and it makes my back hurt for a week
I know my life gets crazy, its throwing me a curve
Yet somehow I get more than I deserve

I wish I did as many things, right as I've done wrong
It took me forty seven years to learn how to write this song

I wake up every morning and I'm thankful for one more breath
Some days I take an extra minute, before I get out of bed
My kids are growing up so fast, they're gonna change the world
And I hope some day they know exactly how to get here

How to get here
