Fire in the Sky

A fire that burns beats down on you as you walk the marsh
It moves in impossible ways with a light that's impossibly harsh
It dips through the canopy, setting all the trees ablaze
You'll never escape the reflections of this endless glowing maze

And just as suddenly as the fire in the sky appeared
It shoots into the clouds again and that's just when you hear
A sonic shriek, and the rest of all sound goes dead
And that's just when you realize that the fire burns above your head

So now you start to wonder if it even makes sense to run
You know there's no escape and you tremble
You are stunned
You want to move but it forces you to stay
The light begins to brighten turning night into the day

Your feet begin to lift from the ground into the air
You try to shout for help
No one hears your despair
The world goes white as the fire swallows you whole
This burning sky has sucked you in
No mercy for your soul

And just like that, you awake again
Back on the path
