This is the Beyond

Before he was a hero he was an idea
An idea that belonged to a man once stuck in the same place you are that we all were
This place was guarded by an obsidian wall
A barrier so strong no one could ever reach beyond it
And it was here that he found himself in the darkness of his very own mind
It was here that our hero chose to not be blinded by the confusion of our world
And it was here that our hero became real
Much more real than the idea he once was
Through clever manipulation of sound waves
And spiritual poetry we call rap music
Our hero has manifested himself into a higher reality
One which can be felt but not seen
Heard but not ignored
And experienced by all as the eternal truth that shapes our souls
This is the beyond

Man fuck this world
Let my words be my light
Let my light be my life
Let me tell you what its like
Looking for a reason why
Feeling like I need to try
Feeling like I'm on rewind
I ain't trying to look behind
Everyday I'm tired of waiting
Being my own inspiration
Everyday I'm instigating
Greatness I ain't gave enough
Patience I ain't given up
Take this I can't give a fuck
Saying I ain't ever stuck
I hold my ground while standing up
Hold my ground ain't backing up
Can't relax I ain't slacking up
Everyone look dead inside
Their eyes just ain't looking up
Dilate these pupils
I'm a teacher how they lookin up
Drive around that old beater
And pray my pockets stacking up
Praying for these black folks
These shorty's out here smacking stuff
I feel like we had enough
I feel like we had enough
I feel like it's really zero showing folks no true love
I feel like we need a hero pulling people up out the mud
I feel like we had enough
