From Where I Stand

Music for the times
Not just the moment
Writing these beats and rhymes
To challenge the opponent

We must inspire young minds with might
To stand up and do what is right
For the future is near, a future where the world continues to turn
But its inhabitants are fated to fall ill, drown, or burn

And it all seems so simple
If we would live off what is truly essential
But instead, greed precedes that potential
Thirst for money and power worsens the air we breathe each day
And a hunger for status and fame
Pollutes the water that's needed to stay

So, lets come together to truly educate our human race
And better equip our children to flourish within this damaged place
Make waves that will resonate through each generation
That is the expectation

Mama
I, I can hear you loud
Falling down
No more tears
No more real rain clouds
Mama
You been working so steady for us and
You and I recognize
And we just keep dragging her down
What we gonna do about it?
Yeah
What we gonna do today?

Every time I look around
I see the mother earth and the man is out of touch
I don't want to heart you
But no matter what I do I don't seem to help it much
Bad decisions, woods and houses turn to dust
Bad decisions, melting ice for you is not a must
