The Blizzard

The snow blew into town
It piled up high and it buried me under the ground
While fires were raging and swelling across the city
Candles in windows and heads all aglow
I couldn't breathe out
So I laid there
With a chest full of air
And I inhaled still

The sea breathed in with me
The moon went down and circled around
My hands were numb but I heard a sound
With one small push
My lungs breathed out
Fire from my mouth
My watery prison
Spilled out on the ground

By night the flames had reached
me and ravaged me slow
In smoke I left looking for
somewhere to go
Somewhere less harsh
Somewhere less cold
