The Axe

I once had a brother – he was aged ten
Him I felt the nearest – for the longest time
Father said go – to do your daily deeds
You leave with a hurry – and no looking back

So, me and my brother – went along our war
Heavy was the tools – that held us back
Little did we know – that our hearts
Our hearts the will be like stone within the hay
When we arrived the spot -the spot we had to be
I went along to fell a tree

As I raised the axe – he raised his voice
He stood there convinced – his turn it is
And took away the axe – to prove his place
For once and for all – willing to risk

I told him no – you're way to young
He suddenly lost his temper – and aimed for it
I wouldn't wanna lose it – so I held on it
It took only few minutes – it got stuck on him
And as I looked closer – his head was split
All I could do was cry for help

The only one to save him was our mother
Our mother
The only one to save him was our mother
Our mother
Our mother

The only one to save him was our mother
Our mother
Our mother
The only one to save him was our mother
Our mother
Our mother
