After Work Before
What do you want me to say
What do you want me to say today
Do you want me to tell you a story of what I did today
Well first I woke up
Opened my eyes to a brand new day
And then I prayed, I prayed through this guitar
As I usually do every morning that is given to me
And then I stretched, just some simple morning yoga
Then I checked my email, to find nothing of importance
Yet I check it everyday in hopes of making some new connection
With someone I should be meeting with on this beautiful, clear, real world
I brushed my teeth, used listerine
Made some oatmeal, well I'm lying
Today I skipped breakfast
Somewhere my Mom is pissed
Then I tried to write, write a poem
But I failed, nothing came out, then I got depressed
Yeah it happens that suddenly right out of the blue
But just like that, I started to draw and got over it
Made lunch, chicken and brown rice
Then I called my mother, but she was out
I left a message saying, hey Mom I'm just calling to check up on you
I know that you've gone out, but I wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you
Then I hung up
Picked up my electric guitar and started to wail
Then I got dressed
Hopped in my car
Then I went to work
What do you want me to say today
Do you want me to tell you a story of what I did today
Well first I woke up
Opened my eyes to a brand new day
And then I prayed, I prayed through this guitar
As I usually do every morning that is given to me
And then I stretched, just some simple morning yoga
Then I checked my email, to find nothing of importance
Yet I check it everyday in hopes of making some new connection
With someone I should be meeting with on this beautiful, clear, real world
