Afternoon

Used to drive off into the sunset
With no weight on my back

Not a bump on this seawall road

Felt so free; my soul had once before
Now my soul has been towed

And I miss this feeling that in my youth, I used to hold

But now I'm dancing with regret
Of the things I didn't do

And in my remaining days
I hope to drive through

Another blissful afternoon
With the sand between my toes
And the sun on my face

Now I'm dreaming of tomorrow
Hoping for a change

But it feels like change left
With yesterday

And the wind keeps on blowing

Or sea, swallow us whole

But now I'm drowning in regret
Of the things, that I have done

And in my final days
