The rain falls hard on my window in the room we used to sleep
And I'm staring at the ceiling, as the memories bleed from me

Making conversation with the shadows on these walls

The stars have all deserted these skies

Late night drives in hopes to free my aching mind

Hoping the headlights drown these visions of our past

A consequence, a false pretense, that we relive every day
