Winter

Raindrops fall louder than snow
And so she knows
Her tears won't make a sound
As they fall to the ground
So white, brilliant with light
Just like purity's smile, so bright
But she wonders if she's even seen at all
Because it's getting too cold
Yeah, even Winter gets cold
When there's no one to hold
And the seasons come and seasons go

The final leaves fall
And Winter never met Summer
And she's never known warmth
Cause its cold in her bones
And that's all she's known
Still, she gives of herself for a season
Knowing somehow she sets things in motion
So that Spring will bring growth
And then Summer will come
So she's told, so she's told

Days grow dark, darker than most
And so she knows it's time
When all the lovers kiss and hide
While she's picturesque
In ways unlike the rest
And while it's nice to be
Esteemed as something so beautiful
Still, it's getting too cold
And there's still no one to hold
And loneliness gets so old

When the cycle starts over, even if
