In the Beginning

When the universe was in its infancy
There was only love
To propel the only forces
That existed to do their job
In an infinitely tiny space
They shared their lessons of love
To inform the generation of new matter
How to un-furl

In the many combinations stirring
That were soon to take place
When the youngest stars of creation
Exploded out into space
There were bits of energy
And Gravity becoming a place
That eventually spawned the building blocks
Of the human race

And thus the Grand Design was born
And thus the Universe took shape
And when that love exposed its form
The next in line behind it
Embraced the light that made it

Possible to recombine itself
And pass on the clues
To the elements emerging slowly
It imprinted The Way
To instruct the coming vapor architectures
to circumfuse
Stellar nurseries of infant stars
The code that must be conveyed
It's a map of understanding
Hidden in the form of a spring
Twisting ladders of the instructions
To bring us up in the shape
Of a Leonardo drawing
Showing us proportions devine
And the finger of the statue David
Pointing of the sublime
We are never going to understand
The nature of a bird flock
Calculating motion faster than
We see the hands of a clock
We invented notions of dividing
Time into smaller blocks
But the atom underneath it all
Will keep its secrets not talk

And thus the Grand Design was born
And thus the Universe took shape
And when that love exposed it's form
The next in line behind it
Embraced the light that made it

Everything the quantum world
Inside it knew to reject
In a jettison of fundamental
Constructs locked in The Way
There were forces at play
That held together light at it's source
There was endlessly more divisions
Of the code in a wave
In a wake of understanding
Remnants of equations unlocked
They lay undiscovered
In the fossil structure inside a rock
In the science of an estimate
Will they ever learn of their fate
Like the faces of Vermeer
Embedded in the fabric of space
Every element of nature springs forth
From this transcendent art
Ever blossoming in chaos
Strings and patterns shaping all things
There are colors we have never seen
But by the hand of Van Gogh
There are radiating objects
Dancing in the mind of Hawking
In the state of singularity
The Universe does not know it's size
It could be a little Angstrom
Floating in the cosmic riptide
Or a trillion AU's
Of shining AU splendor across
Maybe a wave of probability emerging
In the land of the lost

When the universe was in its infancy
There was only this
Unseen energy that pushed expansion
Past the spirals above
In a big bang of exquisite beauty
We can only conclude
That the Universe could only have been
Set in motion
By love
