Stop Bailin' the Boat
Well the Master and disciples set out across the sea
The one in the Bible that they call Galilee
They were gonna take a trip to the other shore
(To the other shore)
So they pulled up the anchor launched out into the deep
The Master laid down to get a little sleep
The disciples felt fine cause they'd sailed this way before
Well everything was going fine til the wind began to howl
And water started splashin' ore the stern and the bow
They began to get nervous
Thought they better grab their buckets and bail
(Grab their buckets and bail)
Well it seemed that they'd forgotten that the Master was on board
Til someone dropped his buckets said "We better wake the Lord"
So the Master rose up and He calmed the raging gale
If we'll just stop bailin' the boat
Worryin' bout keepin' afloat
As long as the Master's on board
Everything is grand (everything is grand)
If we'll just stop bailin' the boat
Worrin' bout keepin' float
Cause the Master has everything in His command
Out on the sea of life with its trouble and its fear
And the dark clouds building as I sail through the years
I find my boat taking water as the tempest keeps pounding at me
(Keeps pounding at me)
I try to bail myself out like so many times before
But I fail once again as the waves round me roar
I have to call on my Master to calm life's raging sea
If we'll just stop bailin' the boat
Worryin' bout keepin' afloat
As long as the Master's on board
Everything is grand (everything is grand)
If we'll just stop bailin' the boat
Worrin' bout keepin' float
Cause the Master has everything in His command
The one in the Bible that they call Galilee
