Fall Apart (Together)

We drift to see, dead sails without an anchor
We glimpse the beams, their streams reveal our shelter
As dark descends, I hear false cheers surround me
And I was wrong, I'd view my homeland never
And I was strong, with steadfast hopes for treasure

Like a boy, pulled to the bedroom window
Transfixed by affixed gleamings
Stars dance where waters part

We fall apart, forlorn and forsaken, I'm never forgetting this day
And I've weathered plenty
Thin skin clings to cracked ribs
My dull mind won't function the same way

Unmarred fledgling friends fight
Aboard ships of pyrite
Sinking cold won't render defeat
Salt hands shake while I write

How sweet it is to learn
