Yukon

The artist throws away his brushes
'Rina never dances not for me
You'll find me out amongst the thrushes
On a lonely hill called Calvary

I sit along the open highway
A story lately left untold
I writ a song of broken skyways
And lonely men from days of old

The train cuts through the warm bronze wheat field
And so come springtime I'll be gone
Riding on a rolling boxcar
On my way to the great Yukon
Where I'll go running through the redwood
Sleep on a bushy flower bed
Sail way on up the Yukon River
Till I get where my life has led

The sun is setting on tomorrow
But it'll rise again I've heard
I'll finally get to see Corrina
And I'll hang on her every word
