A Little Life

If I could I would start at my nail bed
Peel the skin off my bones
If I could I'd nail wood boards to the door
A little life, alone

Survive my hardest days but barely
And I'm breathing
But I never feel alive

I take small breaths
In and out slowly
And I'm not good at anything
Not really

I'm tired of keeping my hair dry
Head above water
I'm tired of trying

Everything's exhausting
Home, school, and my job
Everything's been exhausted
I don't get alive for nothing

But if I could
I would start at my nail bed
and peel the skin off my bones
