Going Up
Uh
Shout out my man Jakub on the ones and the twos
Yeah, yeah, let's go
It's nice to meet you
I guess I've got a couple minutes
A couple rhythms, couple riddles and a couple lyrics
Off the top of my head, but I wrote them from the heart
It's been that way from when I started
Shaky hands and sweaty palms, skittish
I stood on that stage and I was shitting bricks
I licked my lips, wondering what these people would really think
Of this six two white dude in these Quidditch glasses
Little bit of Indian, some German, but I'm mostly British
How's the weather?
A bit shit, suppose it could be better
That's why I stayed inside and penned my first song, Tierra
And fuego it was, I had them people bopping
I had them standing up and through the air their hands were chopping
Then I did that track by Loyle Carner
About this little island up in bonnie Scotland
I sat on stage, they lost it
Took a walk outside to catch my breath, I spent it up
But now I'm feeling better, fiending for this new endeavour
Between the uni and the time I spend in Notts or Leicester
Now I'm thinking, I should probably watch a few more lectures
Fuck that, I'm meant to spend these years becoming wholesome
Could be like them jokers, smoking potent, blowing P on poker
Instead, I'm fixing cars, busy swivelling my focus
I'm learning Polish just so when they ask, Mówisz po polsku?
Tak, po włosku, i trochę po francusku
Excuse my French, I've got to say, I'm pretting fucking voodoo
I'm passing through like choo-choo
I'm manouevring the brutal facts about this world
And hoping I can stack a few, too
This ain't about the bills though
If there's a God, they know I do it for the love
It's just as well, cause I ain't making bucks
Still, I'm calm, I'm glad I got this chance
I'm glad I had the time to spare to show you round my art
I think this is my floor so I'll depart
I bet you weren't expecting that, nobody ever does
