Sixty Weekends

Everything, it comes and goes
Like people through this town I know
Like heartbreak, love, sleet, and snow
Most of what I used to know
I haven't seen my old friends in what feels like sixty weekends
When everybody else moved out, I did my best to feel it out

Because people are like chains, that are bolted to the bottom of the ocean while it rains
They hold you down to feel all of their beauty and their pain
But you never really drown

And I felt so disgusting cuz I took her to the bedroom
But it feels like what I'm supposed to do
And now everyone is laughing, cuz I've really lost it this time
But it wouldn't have been funny to you
I guess nobody's worried
Nobody's called me crazy
maybe I'm doing alright
But when you look back tomorrow
I hope you're full of sorrow
I hope you can't feel alright

Because you were like a chain, that was tied down to the bottom of the ocean while it rained
And you held me down and gave me all your beauty and your pain
But I never really drowned
