January

Christmas lights go out in January
People take down their trees, gold stars and fairies
Holiday hype gone neighbours calming down
By 8 PM there's not a single sound

The fireplace don't feel the same
Guess there's no one else to blame
But January
Oh how dare he
Take our smiles away

Oh the memories we don't cherish
In the gloom and the snowy prairies
Close your eyes it'll be over soon
We will escape the dark side of the moon

In January
Oh how dare he
Take your smile away

This time of year just brings me down
Think we should head out leave this town

Quiet streets and nothing new
But it's all fine if I'm with you

In January
It might seem scary
But I guess it's just ok

Can't wait for Christmas to come back now
Where festive cheers are all around

Put some lights up on our house
Kick our feet up on the couch
Watching the same movie for the hundredth time

Can it be December again now
Just want it to be December now
