Goodbye Summer
On that
On that small, uncomfortable couch
We laid
We laid for hours, talking about
Talking about teachers and our favorite bands
Then I looked down and felt both of your hands
This is a poem my friend wrote in 6th grade
Goodbye Florida Keys, I will miss your Key Lime Pie and the shrimp.
I will never forget the waves tumbling down and pushing me over.
The warming temperature was nothing compared to Ohio's.
Hello Camp Kern, I will look forward to the cabin groups, the ball always
blows past you as you can feel the breeze of the basketball.
Walking down the trails gets your heart pumping to see whats next.
Goodbye Terrace Park Pool, I will always remember the soft pretzels with
all the salt stuck onto the bread. Swimming always felt relaxing to my beat
up feet.
Hello 6th Grade parties, I will have so much fun releasing the bowling ball from my hands many times.
The pool party will connect TP and Mariemont as a whole.
Goodbye sleeping in, I will forever miss waking up in delight as I am not tired at all. You will always be in my heart, when i'm waking up at 7:30.
Hello Explorations, I will look forward to the all the puzzles, movie maker,
and art. I will have so much fun doing all these incredible activities.
Goodbye sleepovers, I will miss staying up late, playing video games all
night.
I will of course miss having fun all night with friends.
I will truly miss having sleepovers.
Hello Spring Break, I will look forward to vacation and Easter.
I am ready for the intense heat in Florida.
I am waiting day by day for Spring Break to come.
Hello 6th grade
And for just a moment we were among the gods
I felt your skin on my lips and you felt my kiss on your neck and you laughed and told me people were watching, but not to stop.
You said you were the luckiest boy in the world and so I kissed you again, and told you how much I loved you
You said it back, held my waist, spun me around, and we danced into midnight.
You owe me
On that small, uncomfortable couch
We laid
We laid for hours, talking about
Talking about teachers and our favorite bands
