Devolved

Black bile and indecision
Outward and into me
A life obsessing wasted over flesh unending
We can't embody holiness
Yet we harness reins
That pull us under to a depth
A depth that god himself can't reach

And now the choice is
All black and gray
Remaining vices
All fade away

In times of war I tend to glorify shame
Resulting in a baseless act of lashing
Out at those close to me
In times of love I will romanticize hate
Won't it be fun to dip our bodies in the
River of ill intention?

Resilience turned to bloodshed
Leaves wet with dignity
A crimson portrait
Of the curse that lives inside of me
We can't be honest without
A sense of fearing the
Outcome of truth that shatters through
Our gaslit memories

And now the choice is
All black and gray
Remaining vices
All fade away

In times of war I tend to glorify shame
Resulting in a baseless act of lashing
Out at those close to me
In times of love I will romanticize hate
Won't it be fun to dip our bodies in the
River of ill intention?

Bury me with open eyes
So I can see what's left
Of my legacy

Bury me with open eyes
I want to see what's left of my
Legacy left bastardized
By mouths repeating my last words

"For it's my honor
To choose depravity's fate"

Devolved and disgraced
