We Are

Sometimes I wonder what I'm doing here
I look for sunlight among clouds of fear
Feels like I'm living in a world of lies
While all around I hear the silent cries
This lonely planet that we all live on
I believe it's meant to be a home

I look for love, but I am so afraid
When people see me will they turn away?
I just can't fake it, no I can't pretend
Should I give up the battle in the end?
Or do I dare to step outside of me
Look in the eyes of every person I see
And take their hand as they reach out to me
As they reach out to me

We are called to be one
Born to shine and be free
And just like grains of sand
Held in Time's own hand
We all play a part in history

Under the surface we are all the same
All fragile children playing fragile games
All searching for the world we've always dreamed
We need each other like the air we breathe

And so I'll dare to step outside of me
Look in the eyes of every person I see
And take their hand as they reach out to me
As they reach out to me

We are called to be one
Born to shine and be free
And just like grains of sand
Held in Time's own hand
We all play a part in history

We are called to be one
Born to shine and be free
And just like grains of sand
Held in Time's own hand
We all play a part in history

We are grains of sand held in Time's own hand
Waves upon the sea dancing endlessly
We are shining stars, that is what we are
We're a galaxy, we're a symphony

We are
We are
