Rodeo
Sometimes, I forget why I picked up this craft
Sat on my ass all day writing rough drafts
But I got a brief glimpse at the fame but that was swept under the rug
Those items devalued when I used to sign autographs
And it makes me laugh, that we even really took it that far
Rolled in mamas dodge to shows, but we felt like true stars
Recording in my homies closet, but we was doing something right
My sounds were getting played at all the local clubs and the bars
But I couldn't even get in, I was still just a minor
We thought we were eatin big, but we still ate at the diners
Maybe it got to my head cause that life has disappeared
Shoulda had a reality check, someone give me a shiner
No more target on my back, no worries bout security
10 years have flown past, a sense of my new maturity
So why the hell did I embark this journey in the first place?
The answer? It's only been my real therapy
Been at this for a minute now but I'm still so far from my throne
But ima make sure I saddle up today
Yeah this ain't my first rodeo
Made songs about shit that didn't have any value
But who knew?
That all the hard work and sacrifice that I put myself through
But there's no view?
I used to make music to someday win a Grammy
Now I just want to make enough to take care of my Grammy
To put on for my fam, my friends, my amigos
Take care of my boy out here fighting chemo, I love you bro
Don't take for granted cause when it go yeah it burns
Back to the drawing board waiting on my second turn
Lesson learned gon get it right this time around
Till I'm back on your radio like my last name stern
I refuse to go down as another millennial parody
Reevaluate the path that I've chosen so carefully
Answered my previous question bout this journey
That's the truth, it's been my only real therapy
Been at this for a minute now but I'm still so far from my throne
But ima make sure I saddle up today
Yeah this ain't my first rodeo
Been at this for a minute now but I'm still so far from my throne
But ima make sure I saddle up today
Yeah this ain't my first rodeo
And a broken home and some broken bones
Is all he'll have to show
For all the years that he spent chasin'
This dream they call rodeo
And a broken home and some broken bones
Is all he'll have to show
For all the years that he spent chasin'
This dream they call rodeo
Sat on my ass all day writing rough drafts
