Ain’t Worth the Saddle
A November afternoon I put on my work boots
I put on my baseball cap and went out the door
I went to grab a rope, little did I know
What would happen when I went to
Train a wild horse
It ran to the other side of the fence
I held on tight to the rope tied to its neck
That's when things started getting intense
Pulling me from behind, I let go for dear life
Then to my surprise
Here came a kick, it was throwin' a fit
That second, I just quit
I fell to the earth, I was covered in dirt
Man, that really hurt
Goin' through an uphill battle
Doin' way too many travels
It ain't gonna steer the cattle
That horse ain't worth the saddle
I considered it a job until that war I lost
My hurting body made up my mind and left it alone
Now I'm sitting by the fire, feelin' a little tired
If ya wanna hear my story
This is how it goes
It ran to the other side of the fence
I held on tight to the rope tied to its neck
That's when things started getting intense
Pulling me from behind, I let go for dear life
Then to my surprise
Here came a kick, it was throwin' a fit
That second, I just quit
I fell to the earth, I was covered in dirt
Man, that really hurt
Goin' through an uphill battle
Doin' way too many travels
It ain't gonna steer the cattle
That horse ain't worth the saddle

I put on my baseball cap and went out the door
