Floating

I hold my body like it doesn't belong to me
Shaking with thoughts bottled inside
Trembling as I search for words to match my feelings
I'm floating back to earth
Everything blurs, like I'm looking at the world from the top of the space needle
And the elevator floor drops out beneath me
So I fall, but
Why does it feel like I'm flying?

How close can heaven get to hell before they both lose their heat
Freezingmelting into one lukewarm cup of tea
That isn't quite enough to lift this numbness from my chest
Where it sits like a pile of weightless rocks
How far can I get from me
And how can I get back to who I am without keeping my skin?
