Just another day as you walk through the door
Fickleness of mind and a heart filled with strife
Hear the words that describe
What you desperately need
Haven't you had enough of this empty life?

This empty life cannot sustain
Your hidden sorrow and your pain
But I'll hold your heart so close to me
I'll hold you close in time of need
My love for you will supersede
The pain you feel inside

Just another night as you walk out the door
The words of salvation still linger in your mind
A shrouded dismissal as you let them die
Saying "I'll pick them up again in another
In some other time"

So tomorrow is the song you sing
For at this time you cannot bring
Yourself to giving up dominion
Fearing void and destitution
Yet longing for sublime redemption
Tread your feet upon this fickle fence

Day comes again as you wear your plastic smile
Listless mind and time filled with short lived pleasure
Dance your dance and masquerade
Your hidden countenance
Where glazed eyes writhe and peer through
A mind of shadowed despair

But feet lay heavy when asked to dance
And a smile's just a reflex at each glance
When looking out behind your face
To see this world in disarray
The mindless chatter takes its place
It takes too much strength to say a word

Night comes again and all you fell is alone
Silently ache from the pangs of emptiness
Coming face to face with the futility of life
Torpid mind and languor thoughts
Pressing and pounding
Pressing at my chest

Life is full of vanity
But hope lies where you cannot see
For in your spirit's life or death
And life incurring by God's breath
For the spirit mourns without this life
Indwell our souls
