Timelines

The old me wants a comeback
And I simply cannot afford that

You know how easy it would be to just let her be
To just let her reclaim her place and lead the way
And vow to conquer anything or body in her way
But it wouldn't be the same

She wouldn't even survive in this timeline
She doesn't know the way
We traveled light years
And she allowed herself to disappear
She doesn't truly know what it's like here

On the other side of all that space and all that time
This new life, it tastes different
And while it's harder to maintain a new me I just met
And navigating a new lane
It would've been easier to stay the same
But she released herself for a reason
We agreed to change

And while this space can be cold
What must be done must be done alone
What we've become must grow quicker and much stronger than who we are no longer

Although she's been living longer
She has to stay where we left her
We have to let old feelings fall from the ceiling
And vivid dreams pull us into memories
To remember why we left
To remember why we leapt
Why we leapt

On the other side of all that space and all that time
This new life, it tastes different
