Our Backyard

I grew up repairing broken things
Tuning small used violins
Which were passed down the family tree
In the yard it leaves glass hearts
Instead of oranges
And the roots choke out the garden

Even so the rabbits don't make this their home
Since that day you trimmed the lawn
Now I blow on dandelion seeds
You'd be so disappointed in me
Making a wish while planting weeds

But still I want to build a tree house
With a tire swing
That I'll sit in while I sing
But still I want to fall asleep
Watching stars move through the slats
Until you take me up to bed
I know that it's not practical
But still I want to build a tree house
With a tire swing
That I'll sit in while I sing
But still I want to fall asleep
Watching stars move through the slats
Until you take me up to bed
I know I know I know it's not practical
Practical
I know I know I know it's not practical
Practical
