Morning at Mama's

The coffee's dripping
The dew is sitting on the tractor outside
The birds are chirping
The sky's a-working up another sunrise
Biscuits baking, pouring bacon grease into a Folgers can
Eggs over easy in a cast iron pan

It's morning at mama's, where I step right back in time
Just for a moment everything in my world's right
Just like God thought it up
So any time I'm in a rut
I take that drive, I walk inside
If I get a chance to clear my mind
I'm gonna spend the morning at mama's

She leaves the porch light on in case I can't find my way home
When times are tough
It ain't enough to call her on the phone
I don't need a reason
Sometimes all I need's one

Morning at mama's, where I step right back in time
Just for a moment everything in my world's right
Just like God thought it up
So any time I'm in a rut
I take that drive, I walk inside
If I get a chance to clear my mind
I'm gonna spend the morning at mama's
Yeah, morning at mama's

It's just one of them things
It's gonna end someday
And when it does
There ain't no doubt I'll miss

Mornings at mama's, where I step right back in time
Just for a moment everything in my world's right
Just like God thought it up
So any time I'm in a rut
I take that drive, I walk inside
If I get a chance to clear my mind
I'm gonna spend the morning at mama's

Mm-mm, morning at mama's
