Counting the Cows

Two hours later, stayed up all night.
Dreamt of the morning, kept up in fright
In heed of a warning of AM sure to come
I lie worrying, dark and then sun

And I don't like it here where I breathe.
Feelings inverted. I am dis- eased
Crept up the chimney,
Crawled to the clouds got on a horse, counted the cows

Two hours later, tired of the fight.
Awake in the bedroom, shades showing light
No tossing no turning this alertness around.
Cracks from the heater, amplified sounds

And I don't like it here where I breathe.
Feelings deserted. I am dis-eased
Crept up the chimney,
Crawled to the clouds got on a horse,
Counted the cows

All that I know's from before.
You wore the dream. I held the door.
And I don't remember life like this.
All we ever say... as you wish

I don't like it here where I breathe.
Feelings deserted. I am dis-eased.
Crept up the chimney,
Crawled to the clouds
Got on a horse
Counted the cows
