Stonewall
I went on my phone and read the news today
To my delight on the front page was the phrase
Kids across the nation defy the authoritarian state
Whose hands and ties are red with the blood of their friends
We're sick and tired of being sick and tired
Enough is enough of nothing changing to rewrite the state
"De-transition these red nosed liars" burn down the blue
But nothing can happen if we don't break down these walls too
They don't care, well neither do I
Maybe it's time to take their eyes for an eye
No Justice, No Peace except for the one tucked into my sleeve
The only road left to heaven, is paved with fire now
Pockets lined with blood clots, Gilded Age with hotspots
Ad break, hot takes, fishes on your front porch
The war in your living room
Mass firings over Zoom
The right to work for the jerk who lobbies for less downtime
Emerald mine, online: ranking girls if they're fine
Nazis, Commies: Don't pick a side
Just walk down the fine line between healthcare and genocide
We're sure everything'll work out just fine
Become a servant to the right or organize at midnight
Get over oppression because it's never gonna end
Unless we put our foot down and usurp the invisible hand
Placed promptly around our throats
They don't care, well neither do I
Maybe it's time to take their eyes for an eye
No Justice, No Peace except for the one tucked into my sleeve
The only road left to heaven, is paved with fire now
They don't care, well neither do I
