By His Wounds (Isaiah 53)

Forsaken of men, a man of sorrows
He was despised and we did not esteem him

Pierced through for our transgressions
Crushed for all our iniquities
Chastised for our well-being
And by his wounds we're healed

No stately form, that we should look upon him
He did no wrong, his words were not deceitful
Yet he bore our sickness and carried our sorrows

Pierced through for our transgressions
Crushed for all our iniquities
Chastised for our well-being
And by his wounds we're healed

All of us like sheep have gone astray
And each of us has turned to his own way
Turned to his own way

Cut off out from the land of all the living
Assigned a grave with sinners and offenders
But He saw light and had His life extended,
This Righteous One will justify the many, Amen!

Pierced through for our transgressions
Crushed for all our iniquities
Chastised for our well-being
And by his wounds we're healed

All of us like sheep have gone astray
And each of us has turned to his own way
Turned to his own way

But the Lord has caused the iniquity of all to fall on him
And by His wounds we're healed
