Sow a Lonely Note

I sow a lonely note in hope
That someday it'll grow
And then I can replant the seed

I've dug my whole life in soil
made of all I can be
And watch myself grow

But the flowers will they be seen
And the fruits will they be sweet
I may never know
At least while they grow
But I'll keep on watering every day

I left out my dreams in sun
Thinking all the work was done
And watched as they started to wilt

The garden became so still
Oh what have I killed
And where did I go

Now the flowers they won't be seen
And the fruits they won't be sweet
The hope may erode
And slow down the growth
But I'll keep on watering every day

While I'm waiting for something
While I'm waiting for something to grow

I sow a lonely note in hope
That someday it'll grow
And then I can re-plant the seed

I've dug my whole life in soil
Made of all I can be
And you know I'll never stop

I'll keep waiting for something
Waiting for something to grow
Waiting for something

And I'll keep on watering every day
And I'll keep on watering every day
