American Experiment

I see a light
It's shining through the cracks
A glimmering of hope, of love, of life
A pseudo silver line

But I'm a rat traversing a maze
One that none of my siblings will ever escape
This American experiment is sort of a dud
They've marked my name for a cause
A record shows that I'll stay stuck in this man made mud

Pay my grace to the scum that's counting coins
Counting on me fucking up so I can give them some more
It's a trap, tailor made for poor American souls
Like painting tallies on the wall
Toss my name in the hole

When the judges got money off shores, tax free
And the law man protecting them are kicking in teeth
How do they expect us not to seethe in the streets

Scrounging for scraps, while they feast in the trees
Safe from everything, including disease
How do they expect us not to seethe in the streets
